Seal 05 DM-i 2026 Model DM-i 128KM Luxury Edition(1000km)

Plug-in hybrids have been the fastest-growing part of our export mix, and this is the trim that explains why. The Seal 05 DM-i in 128KM Luxury specification is a compact PHEV sedan built for markets where fuel is expensive but charging is patchy: it drives as an electric car for most urban days and as a hybrid when there is no plug. The unit listed here has covered 1,000 km, carries seven published photographs and a full vehicle record with an attribute document, and is offered from our China inventory for export.

What the DM-i badge actually does

DM-i is BYD's plug-in hybrid system: a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine working with a front-mounted electric motor through an E-CVT, driving the front wheels. The engine's main job is to generate electricity efficiently, and it drives the wheels directly only at steady cruising speeds. The number in the trim name, 128KM, is the electric-only range on the CLTC cycle, so a customer who charges overnight can cover most urban days without burning fuel.

Why the 128KM trim is the one importers ask for

Longer-range plug-ins cost more and carry more battery weight; short-range versions struggle to stay electric in real use. The 128KM variant sits in the middle, which is why it is the volume trim in China. For an importer it also keeps the duty and homologation conversation simpler than a battery-electric car, because the vehicle does not depend on a charging network to be usable.

What this specific unit carries

  • 2026 model year, listed with 1,000 km on the odometer.
  • Seven main photographs published with the listing, so a dealer can show a customer the actual car.
  • Attribute document held with the vehicle record, so model year, trim and drivetrain can be checked with us before a deposit.
  • Internal reference JS2500157, which our export desk uses to pull the file for this unit.

What changes in the shipping file

A plug-in hybrid is not booked like a petrol car. The battery means dangerous-goods documentation, a longer file and a different conversation with the shipping line, and the charging accessories that belong to the car need to travel with it. None of this is unusual for an experienced exporter, but it is the step where first-time importers lose time, so ask for the document list before you confirm the order rather than after.

How it fits next to the alternatives

Our current list covers all four answers to the same question. A buyer who cannot rely on charging at all is better served by the full hybrids we carry, which never need a plug. A buyer working to the lowest budget is better served by an entry petrol model. A buyer with a real charging network, or a fleet duty cycle that suits one, can look at the battery-electric options. The plug-in hybrid is for the buyer in between — and in most of the markets we ship to, that is the largest group.
